[Valve Knowlogy]Between Ordinary Stainless Steel Ball Valves VS High Temperature Ball Valves
The high-temperature ball valve has a metal sealing structure, and the sealing form is metal-to-metal sealing, replaceable metal sealing ring-to-metal sealing, stainless steel plate and graphite composite plate sealing ring-to-metal sealing. In addition to electric drive, hard seal butterfly valves also have manual, worm gear drive, pneumatic, etc. The butterfly plate of the high temperature ball valve is installed in the diameter direction of the pipe. In the cylindrical channel of the hard-sealed ball valve body, the disc-shaped butterfly plate rotates around the axis with a rotation angle between 0° and 90°. When it rotates to 90°, the valve is fully open.
The difference between ordinary stainless steel ball valves and high temperature ball valves:
1. The materials of high-temperature ball valves and ordinary stainless steel ball valves are definitely different.
2. The manufacturing processes of high-temperature ball valves and ordinary ball valves are different. Generally, ordinary stainless steel ball valves can be assembled directly after lathe processing; high-temperature ball valves also need to be processed (because different materials have different processing techniques, such as nitriding, spraying, etc.).
3. The ball and seat of high-temperature ball valves are metal-to-metal (i.e. hard-sealed) and require the same material to ensure consistent thermal expansion under thermal shock and prevent leakage and locking. Ordinary ball valves generally use soft seals.
4. Generally, ordinary stainless steel ball valves can be assembled directly after receiving the parts; high-temperature ball valves need to grind the ball core and valve seat. This procedure is also very critical, and the size of the leakage depends on grinding.
5. The high-temperature ball valve packing area uses high-temperature packing.
